D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

No. But the fact that we should have heard something about it's existence by now is indication that it's not happening this year. They are ramping up the marketing on the Starter Set and beginning to promote the Forgotten Realms books in November. The October book still doesn't have a title announcement. I'm pretty sure that's an indication it's been removed from the release schedule.

So it's a MIGHT be off the schedule, but nothing official yet.

If it’s off the schedule, then there won’t be any official announcement, since it wasn’t officially announced in the first place.

The next 'book' on the release schedule is the starter set, I don't think they will focus on advertising the one after that before the starter set is released

We already know that Game Informer is going to feature the Forgotten Realms books coming in November. So they are already hyping November's releases next month and not even announced the title of the October book? Unlikely.

Yeah, it looks unlikely at this point. We'd have to be ordering it in the next month or so, and they usually give us the deets before they make us order it. That they haven't even spoken of it, makes it seem like a certainty that it's been pushed back.

It seems likely that it's the Magic Crossover Book that's been spoken of, so pushing it back with the Magic release sounds very reasonable.

The Horror UA does NOT fit Shadowmoore at all. It's dark fey not Frankenstein. I mean it could be bumped till next year, I think the Shadowmoore/Lorwyn book is certainly next year, but I think the October Surpise was Ravenloft, it might have gotten bumped too.

I think the Horror stuff wasn't for the October book at thisnpoont: think they really are working on a new Everything book.

Well, the themes are probably just for UA: Horror for the vaguely spooky Archetypes from Xanathar's and Ravenloft, Arcane for a grabbag of Magic-y options. The themes might have nothing to do with the book in the end.
