So what's your gaming experience

1.)How long have you been gaming?

2.)What do you play?

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?
1.) I played HeroQuest (a short lived Games Workshop roleplaying - sort of - on New Years Day during my 5th grade year of school....which would have been....1992? Something like that. Maybe '93.

I was interested but didn't play any *real* RPGs for most of middle school, and actually bought the three core D&D books towards the end of eighth grade - but after one ill-fated attempt, I gave up. 2ed D&D was a hard game to teach yourself.

In the spring of 1996, I was introduced to West End Games D6-based Star Wars roleplaying game, and I played it until I was a sophomore in college - mid-2000. At that point, I got roped into starting a 3rd edition D&D game, and I've played D20 stuff ever since.

I've run D6 Star Wars, D20 Star Wars, D&D (3, 3.5), D20 Modern, D20 Future, and a BRIEF session of Mutants and Masterminds.

I've played D6 Star Wars, D20 Star Wars, D&D (1e, 2e, 3e, 3.5e), The Star Trek RPG from Decipher, HeroQuest, Ars Magica, and a couple of others that escape me right now.

Most memorable moment? There have been hundreds. If I think of one that stands out above the others, you'll be the first to know. ;)

I've been gaming since late 1981, so about 23 years. I've played everything from Basic D&D (Moldvay's Basic was what got me started), to AD&D, to 2nd edition, 3rd edition, etc. My gaming is these days split exclusively between various d20 based systems and Feng Shui, with occasional forays into other game systems (Aetherco's CONTINUUM springs to mind). I've played whatever was fun, but almost exclusively tabletop as opposed to LARP based games.

My most memorable gaming moment was the only time I've ever had a PC commit suicide, in a Star Wars game some 6 years ago. Poor little jawa, stuck in a hollow R2D2, pretending to make beeps and boops, until eventually he just snapped and stuck a lightsaber under his chin. Very mind-blowing campaign. :) I just couldn't see myself playing in it anymore.

1.)How long have you been gaming?
Nearlly 4 years. Although if you count "choose your own adventure", Murder Mystery parties, and CRPGs much longer.

2.)What do you play?

Homebrew permutations of 3.5. Either mine of a friends. Although we have played: GURPS, CoC, Space:1889, PenDragon, and MERPS (I think thats all)

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?

Gaming related is my first published article in Dragon. In game there are alot, mostly as DM. Recently I had the PCs play a vision out as characters from the ancient past as they tried to find out the origin of one of the PCs weapons. It was designed to be a TPK since it was the last mission of the last wielder, and they would wake up in their own bodies after. I set it up so that the last one to die at the hands of the demonic creature was the PC withe the sword. As life faded from her the demon looked her in the eye said "I see you in there Ariadni." the name of her PC, not the hero she was playing in the vision.

1) Been playing rpgs since Labor Day Weekend, 1976. Before that I played miniature battles and AH//SPI wargames and I was happy to get away from them and all their arguments. ;)

2) Currently I play a variant on Monte Cook's AU; I have also played D&D 3.0 and Ars Magica recently. If you want the full list, well, that could take a while...

3) Hubby-bubbies! That takes a bit to decide. Maybe the Saving of the Cradle in an old RuneQuest game; maybe the Assault on the Covenant in my first Ars Magica game; maybe creeping my players out when they found that the 1920s G-Men game turned into CoC. The problem is to choose a single event in nearly 30 years of gaming.

Let's just say that I love gaming!

1)I've been gaming for over two decades.

2)I'll play just about anything, if the GM and the players are good. Currently it is mostly D&D, but it hasn't always been that way, nor will it always be that way in the future.

3)With about two decades of the stuff, I really couldn't name one single favorite. Unless you want to include the game in which I met my wife, but that one is really only grand in retrospect. At the time, it was innocuous enough.

1)Gamer since 1977.

2)Currently playing 3Ed D&D as a player, trying to start a Mutants & Masteminds (M&M) Supers campaign. However, I own nearly 100 different RPGs, each having their own charm. Personal favorites: HERO4th/5th, D20 (both D&D and Modern), M&M, Godlike, RIFTS, Paranoia, Traveller, Deadlands, Melee/In the Labyrinth, MechWarrior and Space:1889. The collection also includes gems like BatleTech, M:TG, and Car Wars

3)So many...

My 1st level Paladin who charged a Huge ancient Red dragon (in disgust at the DM for putting such a beast in a low level adventure)...

My high level druid/Rgr/M-U threatening the higher level party mage with instant retribution if he launched a fireball on the heads of the approaching DeathKnights and Liches in the middle of the forest...

Using an Instant Fortress as a weapon to kill a powerful demon...

Having a PC die in character generation in Traveller...

In a HERO game, my Female Alien Gladiator named "Hazard" who ate her body weight daily, sexually harassed human males, and treated every hostile encounter like her old gladiator days, resulting in several dead Eurostar supervillains (whose emblems were sewn onto her costume)

Playing a total slut with an "Elric" obsession in a techno-magical GURPS game.

Playing an insane vampire while playtesting GURPS: Vampire. A former PI, he thought he had become a superhero: Major Mosquito (based heavily on The Tick, the Cockroach (from Cerebus) and Shaft)...

And of course, my first RPG experience ever- My 1st level Fighter surviving a dungeon crawl to the last room with only the party wizard at his side, only to face a Purple Worm. We got it down to 11 hit points before it got the mage, then faced me. Both of us were at 4HP when it got in the last blow, hitting me by 1 point, doing 5 damage.

1) 1977

2) Variations on the d20 theme, mostly, these days. I'm incapable of playing anything "out of the box" so everything I play is tinkered with and mutated somehow.

3) Geez, I dunno. The eight-hour battle with one intermediate diety, three epic-level NPCs, an immortal spirit creature and a vengeful ghost that closed off Season Two of Barsoom was particularly satisfying.

1.)How long have you been gaming?

Since April 1982.

2.)What do you play?

D&D 3.5

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?

Waaaaaay too many to choose from... must think...

1, I'm up there in the Old Gamer's home with Diaglo, The Shaman, and Mark, but I was in 4th grade at the time, so I may be the young punk they all get to push around and has to get the chair with the crack in the vinyl when we all get together to watch Star Trek after dinner. ;)

2. I've played and owned more systems than I remember, and there are three full bookcases of game systems and books in the other room. Right now, I've condensed down to two and a half. I'm switching to CODA to run a Trek game, and loving it so much, I may move my 3.5 game into a homebrew fantasy conversion of it. And Mutants & Masterminds.

3. Best moment: Having my wife and both my teenaged sons actively playing around the table every time. :)

1. Since 1981. So that's 23.5 years.

2. Enjoying every minute of Third Edition (primarily 3.5) and Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed. Occasional dips into Champions, CoC d20 and a few other systems too.

3. Too many too mention. But the most recent was getting the new Basic Set for Christmas and playing for an hour and a half with my eight year old daughter this past weekend. She was so enthusiastic. "I wanted to hit the monster!" "I whack him with my hammer. Whack!" (She moves the Eberk mini to hit the kobold.) "Can we play again? Like tomorrow?"
