So what's your gaming experience

1) Summer of 1980

2) Currently playing D&D 3.5 homebrew, DMing Eberron, and thinking of starting up a Star Wars...haven't decided upon West End or D20 though. Have played so many other systems that my brain would fail to register all of them.

3) Far too many to sort through...must pick a couple randomly...er...forcing the rest of my companions to help rethatch and old womans roof that was damaged in a battle--instead of searching for the 'hoard' treasure. The woman turned out to be an evil witch.

Playing in the basement of a friends house...having my character dive across a chasm to catch a falling artifact before it hits the lava below and then latch onto the otherside. I rolled as we all watched in anticipation...even if I saved the artifact and my character died. Just as the die was making its last spin...the power went out. I then yelled "A twenty!" Everybody burst out laughing knowing that nobody could see a thing. When the lights came back on about an hour later (we went for a munchie run) we saw that it actually was a twenty.

1.)How long have you been gaming?

2.)What do you play?

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?

1. ~13 years
2. D20 games and homemade system. In the past I have played AD&D 1e and 2e, D&D, Shadowrun, World of Darkness, SAGA and probably a few others.
3. One of my players was playing a really dumb barbarian (he voluntarily lowered his Int to 4). He was presented with a door that led into pitch darkness. He charged in, thus falling down a 3 story set of spiral stairs. The player's role playing of the situation (his yelps and grunts) was absolutely hilarious.

1) I've been gaming for the past year and a half, DMing for a little over a year

2) Started on 3.0, now using 3.5

3) There was one time where my players were facing a big bad creature, CR 23. They were only around level 16 or so, and the creature was supposed to be a diplomatic foil... a test to stretch their minds beyond hack and slash. Most of the people in the party figured this out... except the one player whose normally level headed, who tried a save or die spell on the baddie.

The spell failed. Epic fight ensued, baddie was somehow killed (DM's dice rolled a lot of 1s and 2s that day). Party barely survived long enough for the wizard to teleport them all out, just as the baddie rose from the dead a turn after dying.

Fun day. :)

I'm a relative young'n.

1. I started gaming in July 2001, but was into D&D via Monster Manuals and Baldur's Gate since around 1999.

2. I've played 3.0, 3.5 and d20 Modern.

3. Most memorable moment was my first game of D&D ever, in which the party, all stuck in a pit, had to fend off four crossbow-wielding bugbears. We only survived because of a dire weasel animal companion.

Demiurge out.

1) I got my basic red set in 3rd grade so I'd say 23 years.
2) I've primarily played D&D in all it's various forms but I've also played numerous other games. My bookshelves give my house the appearance of a game store. :)
3) While I was in the Air Force I was stationed in South Korea and in that campaign I had been bugging my DM about the "Six Demon Bag" from "Big Trouble in Little China". He gave my Necromancer one but when I cast identify on it the DM rolled a d6 to see how many demons escaped. My jaw about hit the floor when 3 Balor-ish demons popped out and started attacking my Necromancer to take him to Hell. I guess I asked for it. :)

1.)How long have you been gaming?
About 12 years.

2.)What do you play?
I own a fair number of games, and have played a great deal more. In 2004 I have run games for: Paranoia, My Life With Master, Talislanta, Shadowrun, Dust Devils, Godlike, Call of Cthulhu and HERO. I also played in a few games of Unknown Armies and Kult (using UA system). This year I'm going through WLD with two separate groups using the Tal4 system. I also plan on running a game of Ex Machina, Call of Cthulhu and Shadowrun, as well as playing a Sengoku campaign. There is also my own RPG which I'm hoping to playtest this year.

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?
Too many classics. Way too many. A few in AD&D2nd, a few in Vampire, a couple in Star Trek and a few more in Star Wars d6. My most memorable game run was Cthulhu's Horror In The Glen. Scared the crap out of the entire group (and myself as well). Sorry I'm not going to list the specifics here. Limited time blah blah blah.

Since I'm new to the Enworld boards I thought I would try to get some of my fellow posters by asking what's your gaming experience?

1.)How long have you been gaming?

Since 1993. I started with Advanced Fighting Fantasy.

2.)What do you play?

Lots of things, but mainly D20 Modern, or 3.5 DnD campaigns with psionics.

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?

A paladin, wearing holy armor, holy symbols, carrying a holy shield and holy weapons performed one too many evil acts. A voice in his head tells him he's no longer a paladin, but has the choice of being a fighter or an anti-paladin. He chooses the latter.

He made such a wonderful sizzling sound...

Well, when did the original Marvel Super Heroes Game by TSR come out? That was my first introduction to RPGS.

2.)What do you play?

Varies, but most often, D&D, and most often, Forgotten Realms. I've got the Black Company and I'm reading through Slavelords thinking, "Wow, this could work." I've been in Vampire (other Word of Darkness stuff), Call of Cthulhu (the insane love for this game is way out of porportion to how much is actually there.), BESM, and many others.

Couldn't really pick just one. There are times when the dice are hot and keep the story moving and there are times when it sucks to be the GM and see those dice effect you. I remember as a GM once having this thing called the "Enigma" which was an combination of two gods and was like 20th level (10th level mage/10th level fighter) in 2nd edition which was pretty powerful, and two pc's critical it like three times in one round finishing it. Ugh!

3.)What is your most memorible moment while gaming?

1.) Since 1982 with the Red Box D&D Set

2.) I am plaing in a 3.5 DnD camapign and running two other campaigns; one for Eberron and one for Cyberpunk 2020

3.) Ouch, you are making me strain my brain here... recently there was the evil campaign I played a Halfling Rogue/Invisible Blade/Assassin from the Green Ronin book (total level was 17). I admit, he was munchkinesque, but that was the campaign all around. I had an unbelieveable bluff ability, and could bluff as a free action thanks to the invisible blade class. When we were attacked by a Balor, I bluffed it, hit it with a dagger, doing 56 points of damage (all kinds of buffs and sneak attack damage for being flat footed) on a death attack. The Balor had to make a Fortitude save of 66 or die. The GM just shook his head and we played on from there. The campaign ended shortly after that with the GM having the main bad guys bribe us to just go away.

Old school memory - the time that a GM required we roll characters in front of him using 3d6 in stat order and I rolled an 18/96 Strength. The look on his face was memorable.
