The stand was Sword Kings. I also saw all the Lord of the Rings swords, and a bunch of swords which are apparently from video games. I was working on our stand a row down, and spent all day Saturday saying I didn't need a sword while humming the Thundercats theme--until my co-workers just told me to go buy the damn sword and get it over with. And so now I own a sword.

I worry that this might form the start of an expensive hobby.

Accidentally bought a sword from this recent UK Games Expo? Not me.

Has "accidentally" bought a sword-like object at sometime that did started a particularly geometrically growing collection? That... might indeed be me. Yes. :)

(Humorously, I don't think any of my 20-odd "actual swords" were accidental purchases... though I do have an accidental spear, so there is that!)

Well, I didn't exactly accidentally buy a sword at UK Games Expo this weekend - although I certainly see how such a thing can happen - but I did have the honor of being given a handmade sword by its maker some years ago, which even achieved a modicum of fame when it featured prominently in an exposition of Gothic paraphernalia in more recent times.

The sword was inspired by an NPC who played a role in my version of Chaos from Mount Dorren (Phil Masters, in White Dwarf 32), but I guess that's another story.

Very nice that he seems to have hammered out the blade profile. Most modern replicas are just milled straight from a steel blank.
