So why are you at ENWorld?

I was running from an angry band of Orcs, went through a door, slammed it shut behind me, turned around, and found myself here.

Which is as good a reason as you're gonna get, because for the life of me I have no idea how or why I first wandered in to this site.

I followed all the 3E rumours here back in '99/'00, then drifted away for a few years. Came back for the 4E rumours, and this time I'm sticking around.

I am here to get inspiration for my games. I am both a DM and a player. This place is a well spring of information for both.

I came here when it was just about the only place with information about 4e.

I'm bored at work. Basically :)

Edit: Actually I came to ENWorld because of 4E, because here was the best place to get info about the new edition.
And it's a great community about D&D (which i'm obsessed with).

I used to lurk here way back, but eventually created an account to share my ideas and ask for feedback. I used to do some cartography and cover art for various projects here and there as well as a few for myself and another guy (who wrote adventures for 3e) that we put out for free (some PDF's). So I was here posting about some of those things as well.

The big thing that keeps me here is the discussion about D&D as I play that a lot and it's always on my mind. The discussions I like most (not that you asked) are those were people ask for plot help, or they feel stuck in the story and want ideas, etc. I do that for some other DM's here from time to time as well as my brothers - I'm a sounding board you could say and love coming up with plot ideas, or twists to stories where people otherwise feel the story is getting bland.

To me, these *are* the D&D forums, and the moderation here is second-to-none. I wish I could find forums of this quality for all of my hobbies, I really do. That is why I'm here, and why I go out of my way to see that this places survives.

First found the forums during the runup for 3rd and lurked on and off for a long while. Came back when the 4e runup started and have hung around. In general there are some good conversations and ideas that float around, and the mods really need to be commended for keeping things civilised.

I have had three names here thus far, and don't really remember how I got here. I mainly stay as there are few of the L33T types with atrocious spelling and worse manners. Plus, there is good information, and with a few people on the ignore list, it is a fine place to be.

I have spent very little time at RPG.net and some tiem at Wizards (in 3E days) and I like here better

I only see about 5% of the site, but it is a nice 5%.

Did you get pie? Have some pie.

I find the gamer funk to be far less odiferous on EN World than on other forums.

Plus the community is friendly and is (mostly) inane discussion-free.
