Social Forums Enhancement

Morrus

Well, that was fun

A lot of you have created your own Social Groups here on EN World. Up until now, the "forum" capability of those groups was limited - essentially there was the one thread on the social forum's intro page.

Now it's a little better - you can create an entire forum for your Social Group (which follows the same privacy rules as those you've selected for the group itself). The moderator of that forum is automatically set as the creator of the social group.

For now, in order to not deluge us with a flood of unused social forums, only social groups with 10 or more members will be able to create a social forum for their group.

You'll find the link to create your forum at the bottom of your social group's page (alongside Edit Group, etc.)

Please try not to abuse the feature - if you need a forum, create one by all means. If you don't need it, and the social groups basic functionality is adequate for your needs, please refrain from adding to a laundry list of hundreds of desolate forums!

As always, if you're just curious to see how it works, feel free to look at my test group:

Enjoy!

Cool! This is a great idea. And the limit that a social group needs at least 10 members is a good one. I'd hate to think what would happen otherwise. :heh:

Hmm, this means the Hive can have it's own forum with multiple hivemind threads. :hmm:

Is there any way to connect new social groups to existing private forums?

The DC Gameday folks are interested in using this functionality, but I'd hate to lose the forum history we already have.
