Solasta has a pretty over-the-top plot. We have refugees from another world pursued by an evil god (who is an aspect of a good god), and lizardy minions who no one believes exist. A dimensional rift that has to be destroyed in order to prevent the end of the world. Then the second sequel involves the arrival of aliens from yet another dimension (demons from hell).I genuinely prefer Solasta's story to the over-the-top nonsense of BG3. Sometimes simple but believable is better.
BG3 has plenty of alternatives even if you stick to heroic choices only. Around four different ways to heroically defeat the BBEG.I'll never be into playing the evil guy
As opposed to an invasion by illithid from another plane that have opened a dimensional rift that must be closed?Solasta has a pretty over-the-top plot. It is free of soppy romance subplots though.
I didn’t claim BG3 was any more grounded. Good luck finding a D&D plot that doesn’t involve dimensional shenanigans and evil godlike entities! As opposed to an invasion by illithid from another plane that have opened a dimensional rift that must be closed?
It's not like the basic plots are really all that different.
