D&D 5E Solasta 2 Announced!!!

What surprises me is how convinced the devs seem that we're getting a 5.5 SRD any day now. If I was them, I'd stick with what's already in Creative Commons and add my own stuff, not make any bets on what will and won't be in a 5.5 SRD, or when it will be available.
They were in communication with WotC during the development of the 1st game. They may well know something.

It sure seems like they think they know something. I hope that's correct. I do think that with the changes I see in the demo now, I'd still pick the game up. The "new rules" angle isn't as interesting to me as a better engine.

During the dev updates they just keep saying "WotC has said that a new SRD will be released shortly after the new Monster Manual". TBH it doesn't really seem like they have any info the general public doesn't have.

The only change from the 2024 rules I’d like to see them implement is having healing potions be a bonus action. The rest I could take or leave.

So apparently they are switching to the 2024 rules, I think this would be the first video game that's a RPG to use the rules.
I just saw this as well. Using the SRD and their own classes/subclasses, much like the first game. It will be cool to see the new Weapon Mastery rules work. Other than that, not sure there's a lot that makes me go "yay!" for the 5.5E rules. Still, it sort of future-proofs the game for the next few years.

Just watched a couple of minutes myself. The dialogue and interactions with the NPCs and the game world already look 1000 times improved from the first game.

As much as I enjoyed the first version, this is a big step up. It's not going to be at the same level as BG 3, personally I don't really want it to be. It's good to see that they've been able to build upon the success of the first game. It might be kind of nice if they were officially licensed and used more than just the basic rules, but I wouldn't be surprised if the cost/benefit analysis doesn't work in their favor if WOTC was even interested.
