I found Seinfeld himself to be the only unfunny part of the show oddly enough....

To each their own for sure... one man's trash is another man's treasure, etc.

I enjoyed Friends as well. Very different type of humour... the more self-centred nature of the Seinfeld characters sure does influence the way New York's portrayed in each of those shows!

You probably don't like Curb Your Enthusiasm either? Very Seinfeld-esque humour (for obvious reasons I guess).

I never watched CYE.

And its not just the characters, its the colour's, the diner, the atmosphere, everything.

Compare that to the warm inviting colour's of FRIENDS, Seinfeld makes New York look ugly and unwelcoming, FRIENDS & Mad About You makes New York, seem beautiful, approachable, and welcoming, friendly even. I know which New York I'd prefer visiting.

Still very popular and had a spinoff (curb) that did very well but 2 each their own. The finale was ranked 10th all time and still has strong steaming numbers

Friends is even more popular and has been off the air for 15 years. Its finale was 5th all time

Sorry it’s not your cup of tea but what do you find funny?

Friends, Mad About You, Rules of Engagement, Corner Gas, Joey, Big Bang Theory & its Spinoffs, Last Man Standing, How I Met Your Mother, Still Standing, That 70s Show, That 90s Show, Two Broke Girls, Whitney, Night Court, Reba, Bernie Mac Show, Fresh Prince, Girlfriends, In Living Colour, MADTV, sometimes SNL, Canadian Airfarce, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Republic of Doyle.

For youtube channels, Frenchy, Yeah Mad, OG Crew (all Australian), Content Crew, Meat Canyon/Papa Meat, Flash Kids, Daily Show, Brad Williams, Bill Burr, Fluffy, Nikki Glazer, etc..., warning alot of these make jokes that are very offensive, so its probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Comedy isn’t about making places, or characters, seem nice. Most TV sitcom is studio-bound anyway and has little sense of place.

I don't need nice, but I do need likable in someway.
Yeah, that's a delicate balancing act. Comedy protagonists are often terrible people, but also likeable. So we care, but feel it was deserved, when ridiculous stuff happens to them. See Frasier Crane, Captain Mainwaring, Basil Faulty, Del Boy Trotter, Blackadder etc. (Sorry I'm more familiar with British comedy so some of my examples might be unfamiliar).

I expect it to be a blast to actually play. The world map stuff shown today looks like a good step up from Solasta 1's random encounters. Story and writing are going to be what they are, though hopefully a little less utterly cringe than Solasta 1. The demo was a ... small step in the right direction in that regard, but only a small step.

And I'm definitely looking forward to a more true-to-form CRPG implementation of the 2024 rules right out of the box.

(The BG3 modding scene has made some valiant attempts at 2024 implementation, but it still has a way to go. I can at the very least recommend piecemeal installations of the individual mods for 2024 spells, feats, backgrounds, weapon mastery, and individual classes and races. OTOH, I would NOT recommend that All-In-One mod. I had fun with the AIO mod for a while, perhaps due to the sheer novelty of it being my first experience with a 2024 implementation in BG3, but the more I played into it the more silly homebrew changes, awful "rebalancing" of enemies, and some less than desirable interpretations of the rules really turned me off of it.)
