Soloing the World's Largest Dungeon

Crothian

First Post
Okay, so how insane is this, my friend wants to solo the WLD. I think she's crazy since she hates dungeon crawls but she assures me that she can have fun with this since it is the Word's largest dungeon.

So, what class and possible more important what level of a character do you think would be needed to actually get through this? Now she has a character class and level but I'm curious as to what En World thinks especially those who have been going through it.

Well, doesn't the WLD suggests to ban druids because they consider some of the spells too powerful, so I'd guess druid might be a good choice, particularly since having that animal companion can be even more important when soloing. Cleric is a close second. Anything else won't have enough healing without liberal use of wands, I think.

it doesnt really matter what class it is if they have enough levels. example: an epic fighter could have fast healing, thus negating a need for a cleric (to a degree, they just need a little downtime) a mage could instantly vaporize most threats, or a sufficiently high level monk would simply be damn hard to kill. since I have not seen any real info on the WLD (unless your just talking about a giant map....which I downloaded and have glanced over) I would say it depends more on how hard the DM makes it. example: if you send a level 30 character against an army of CR 1's, its going to be a pointless slaughterfest, however if you send that same level 30 alone against any premade super-demon (ie: asmodeus and them) they're almost guaranteed to lose right off the bat.

It suggests no druids since its a dungeon with little natural things so a lot of the druids abilities are going to actually be useless here

Well, you don't need any natural things to still have a dominating druid character.

Although I hate Bards, I think Bard is the best option, since it is the most-generalist class, with casting and some healing. Favored Soul might be another viable option, but entirely missing arcane casting will hurt after the first few sessions.

Honestly, doing WLD solo sounds crazy to me...

I'm with you on that, but I'm willing to give it a try. We'll set some ground rules and give it a go. It does have the added benefit of it will go faster then with a party.
