Some book questions

If your going to GM, and your a new GM, which being a college person would strongly suggest you likely are, get the GMG, its the best one made since the 1E DMG for the D&D franchise.

Also, if you are GMing for your first time, do NOT allow the players to use the players Guide. Get comfortable with running games with just what is in the PH, there is plenty there. Then when you feel you have mastered running the game, that is when you allow the Players Guide in. At which time you also reboot your campaign.

Do NOT let your players force stuff upon you until you feel your ready for it.

All assuming your GMing for your first time. Also read my sig. It may have been written for 1E, but it is still just as true today as it was then.

High praise!

Good to hear, though. I suppose its strong sales can't be based on too little substance, really.

Very encouraging. Hm... :hmm:

edit: Oh, and everything else you said, of course - agreed. :)

When you have the use of a PC or laptop in your gaming sessions I find Pathfinder_OGC a very useful site. You can use it and buy the books when you have money. But even having the books, I find the site useful.
You can quickly find the sections you need and open more then one page if you want to. PDF's work fine for the books you don't need very often.
I find DnD Sheets also a very useful site for my character-sheets. :)

I find both Bestiaries to be indispensable. The former for default monsters, the latter because I find the creatures contained there to be of even higher quality.

GMG and APG are optional. Core is a must.

GMG NPC Gallery is very helpful, though you can get them online.

Ruemere
