As a children's librarian, I sometimes come across a cool book that I think gamers would like, but might miss because it's written for kids or teens, even though it can be enjoyed by anyone. I thought I'd post a few titles, in case anyone is looking for something new and different to read. Most of these are light reads, so if heavy, deep fantasy is your thing, these might not suit.
1. Dragonback series (first book is Dragon and Thief), by Timothy Zahn.
2. Skulduggery Pleasant, by Derek Landy.
3. Gregor the Overlander, by Suzanne Collins.
4. The Supernaturalist, by Eoin Colfer.
5. Among the Hidden, by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
6. The Ranger's Apprentice series (first book is Ruins of Gorlan), by John Flanagan.
7. The Book of Lies, by James Moloney.
8. Just Ella, by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Feel free to add any titles you know of that people may have missed - it's always nice to find interesting books you never knew were out there.
I've used ideas from just about all of these books for game events as well.
