The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is traditionally the first in the series even if two of the other books come before it as far as the timeline goes.

Lion,Witch,Waderobe was published first and thus starts the Chronicle

Magicians Nephew is a prequel not the Chronicle proper (the Horse and his Boy isn't part of the Chronicle proper either imho)

oh and the Trailer rocks, the minotaurs and werewolves are funky and the fauns look suitable corny in their blood red armour
