some questions i have

hipnotode

First Post
im just wondering if i can have my hybrid psion choose sharper focus as his hybrid discipline RAW, or will it have to be houseruled?
just wondering if it was released as part of an article or something? (still using offline CB, so dont get updates and stuff anymore...)

also, if you take the arcane implement proficiency feat to gain proficiency with light/heavy blades as implements, are you limited to only the ones you have proficiency to wield as mele/thrown weapons?
if no, do you gain the benefits for enhanced weapons?

Currently, there's no hybrid option for Shaper Focus. It'll have to be house ruled.

If you're not proficient with, say, a longsword, you would still be able to use it as an implement with Arcane Implement Proficiency.

As far as my reading goes, you can choose the discipline but do not get any power from that discipline. If you wanted one of the two powers, you would need to houserule it. There's nothing for a psion that really benefits from disciplines so there's no benefit in taking the discipline without the powers.

Proficiency with a weapon just allows you to use the proficiency bonus of the weapon with Weapon attacks. All of yours will be Implement attacks, so have at it. Are you just going for a specific look then?

If I understand your question correctly, yes. You get the enhancement bonus of a magical weapon to your attack and damage. Again, you do not get the proficiency bonus (as the feat text explicitly says).

Also, for the record, it's Shaper focus not Sharper.

according to the offline CB you get either far hand (telekinesis focus) or send thoughts (telepathy focus) and then you can spend your hybrid talent feat on expanded discipline focus, which gives you the other power.

thank you about the weapon/implement proficiency thing, that was bugging me.

Sorry by "the discipline" I very unclearly meant "Shaper Focus." You can take the original two foci with the Hybrid feature and gain a power associated with that focus. Shaper focus... well... you can say you're a shaper.

If you're a dwarf from Orzammar*, you're in charge of history and religion at that point.

*I'm playing way too much Dragon Age at the moment. Ignore me.
