Somebody! Tell me of the d20 Future ship templates in Dungeon #113!

It's a three-page article that includes 5 starship templates (there are apparently 2 in the d20 Future book). Each one gets a few paragraphs of general info, followed the specifics of the template -- and they work pretty much like creature templates in the MM, which is neat.

It presents an interesting preview of some of the starship stuff from d20 Future, more by inference than anything else. It also makes use of Progress Levels, which are akin to Tech Levels in GURPS -- Gravity Age = PL 7, etc.

Skimming the article made me want to play a sci-fi game, so overall I'd say it's pretty good. ;)

Hmmm. If they work like creature templates, then it's it kinda of odd there is only 2 in the book itself? I don't want to have to buy an issue of Dragon to get stuff left out of the book...

Progress Levels are from Alternity. So come one, spill some more info on the ships. ;)

Well, I finally got my own copy of the magazine, so I can finally talk a little big about the article. It features five new starship templates (I originally wrote six, so I may see if I can get Erik to let me post it online or get them to do it), each of which can be laid over certain types of starships to alter them in some way. In addition, the article features a new piece of starship equipment compatible with the starship rules in the book, and should give you a lot of insight into the kinds of things you'll find inside it.

I'm assuming this means you wrote the article. ;) If so, congratulations -- it's a good piece of work, and quite enjoyable.

Any teasers on the 6th template?

Any teaser on d20 future at all!! I have ordered my copy on Amazon 1 month ago and I am tired of waiting.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing to preview on WotC. It's a scandal! ;)

Hear, hear!!

How are the ships designed? Is the write-up like vehicles in modern? (i.e. it's possible to destroy a tank with your bare hands). Tell me something, darn it!!

:)
