No, because a good/interesting atlas (in my mind) presents an informative history of each country without being bland or dusty. Yes, pictures do mostly outnumber text, but I've always been more of a visual learner anyway.

What about a historical atlas? It could include the bits about each country at the time the maps were done. That way you wouldn't have to cut out large parts of history of each place or have a twenty thousand page atlas.....

Actually, what I really want to do with it is to label each country as it calls itself. I find it odd in this day and age that everyone still has their own name for every country.

After all, I don't Turanil "Train" since he happens to be from France and the phonemes of "Train" happen to fit better in my American Phonology.

So my atlas would let the USA be the USA, it would let "Spain" be Espagna, etc.

I thought of it in 6th grade, and the idea has kept with me. I think it's going to nag me until I actually sit down and do it.
