Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules"

I just wanted to say that this is really excellent work. The number of alt.sorcerers floating around out there is proof that the class as written was broken. Khaalis, you've finally made it into something interesting and mysterious, as it should be.

Your many bloodline possibilities make the class easily customizable for any campaign setting, so I'm yoinking it.

I thank you and my players thank you.:)

Well I thank you for the compliments, however I cannot take all of the credit. There have been many sources of alt.sorcerers to have come down the pike or ideas presented to add to a sorcerer or feat paths to make them more useful. I have simply taken many of the ideas presented by such as Monte Cook, Quintessential Sorcerer, Forgotten Heroes: Sorcerer, Stormblood's article in Dragon #311 and picked and chosen ideas that seem to fit together into a cohesive base class idea that matches the fluff presented in the sorcerer class.

Now as for "yoinking" it... IT ISNT DONE YET! :D

If people really wish to yoink it - which of course would make me quite happy, help me finish it. I need to have some of the class ability options checked for continutity, clarity, error, and power balance.

I will also need to post the specifics on the other Heredities. Once people have agreed that this is as good as it can get I can post a final, all-inclusive, version for your yoinkage. :D

The only corrections I feel qualified to make are those an editor would do, such as minor grammar corrections or slight changes that make certain sentences flow better. If you want me to do that, I certainly can, but perhaps that should wait until the final draft? :)

That would be greatly appreciated! While I am a halfway decent writer, grammar is not exactly my strongest point. Also there is the problem of my having stared at the text for so long that its hard to spot errors now. I would love to have it gone over by someone with a better eye for editing changes. Any changes you think should be made can be done now or once I post a final version. Would it be easier to do from a post here or from an actual .doc or .pdf?

Khal,
Interesting stuff. Not sure I'd use it but whatever man.

What is your beef with it? I am seeking constructive criticism.

I realize you are a hard core pimp for S&S's SL but I need constructive criticism to know whether you have a legitamate problem with the design or if you are just of the purist side of the line that thinks there is nothing wrong with the class As-Is.

Khaalis, I will try and look over the Abilites later when I have more time. A quick run through seems that they are good. What about an Imporved Familiar Ability?

I think it would be easier to make the changes from a .doc file. I don't ever post my email addy online, but I see you've got yours in your profile, so I'll email you and you can send me back the file. If you like, I can go ahead and run through it now, and then again when you have the final version. I think I could get the present version done in just a few hours. (Not today though, I'm working late. In fact, possibly not until Sunday.)

Man, I agree, nice work Khaalis, but some of us were making alt.sorcerers with customizability in mind two years ago. I'm glad Khaalis "finally" got it right so the rest of us can stop flailing in the dark.

This falls under the Bonus Feat ability. If the sorcerer already has access to a familiar they can choose any of the dozen or so "Improved Familiar" style feats that are out there (up to the DM obviously) but at the very least the Improved Familiar feat from the DMG. Do you think any other ability needs to be covered?

Thanks!
