D&D 5E (2024) Sorcerers Take The Reins

From puzzles to NPCs and a full adventure—EN5ider Magazine is all about innate arcana!
Tailored puzzles, archetypal NPCs, subclasses—this month's EN5ider Magazine is all about sorcerers!
  • As always a juicy adventure awaits, this time helping a young woman with great arcane potential choose her fate and navigate the intrigues waiting to befall her because of Magic In The Blood (for 4–5 PCs of 3rd level).
  • A trio of Sword and Sorcery subclasses brings options to the table for innate magic wielders: the disturbing Devouring Hunger, powerfully connected Living Weapon, and chilly Winter Blessed.
  • Where sorcerers are scarce there's a solution too, the Ignitors of the Drowned Spark encouraging arcana for the better of all.
  • The rest of the GM tools brought into the fold include more than a half dozen puzzles with Sorcerous Solutions and 5 Sorcerers of Arcane Blood!
The all-new EN5ider Magazine is available as a monthly print magazine mailed directly to your door every month, or in convenient PDF format.

I think that Sorcerors would make great thematic magic casters in a custom setting; imagine if they were the ONLY full caster class, but there were many different kinds of bloodlines for variety?

No wizards, Warlocks, Clerics etc. Just different bloodlines, including one or more that can have healing magic. Much potential, I think.

If 5e was anything like PF1 with regards to Sorcerer Bloodlines, the Sorcerer class would out-archetype the other classes by sheer number alone. ;) PF1 has up to 51 Sorcerer Bloodlines and that's not including the 3pp ones. :p

As for PF2, Sorcerer Bloodlines are broken up among the four magical traditions (Arcane, Primal, Divine, and Occult). Not sure how many Sorcerer Bloodlines there are in PF2 by now. But if they were the only full caster class around in 5e, you could replace Clerics with a Divine Sorcerer archetype, Warlocks with an Occult Sorcerer archetype, and so forth.
