SotD - Beneath Grenton

"The room appears to be currently unoccupied" whispers the Psion to those around him. "But there are three holes in the wall that warrant investigation"

Search those holes out, Liberitas

"Wait... It's a trap."

Jack digs into his pack to find his small but elaborate set of precision-made tools.

As soon as Jack warns him, Veras-Re tells Liberitas to stop.

"By those tools, you plan to disarm these devices. You will need light." Veras-Re follows Jack with their light source.

Jack takes a good long look at the three holes in the wall, to verify his intuition and make certain that they are, indeed, a trap. Once his suspicion is confirmed, he pulls out the appropriate tools...

He uses a small hammer to wedge three little lead pegs, barely bigger than than orifices themselves, tightly into the holes, hopefully sealing them. "Watch out for the trigger, anyway," he explains, pointing it out, "but those plugs... should... keep in whatever darts, gasses or liquids are supposed to come out."

Search check: 22
Disable Device check with Masterwork tools: 25

(Just a quick note, the holes are behind the curtain. Does that change your strategy?)

OOC: Unless Jack's 22 Search check reveals that the "trap's" trigger is part of the curtain, or some other important detail that you've left out...

...no, it doesn't.

(Well, I did say the holes are behind the curtain - in the sblock to Veras-Re... seems it slipped his mind.)

Jack checks the curtain and the wall, but doesn't quite find the trigger. Carefully moving the curtain, however, he notices a thread about four and a half feet above the ground. The trap appears to be a spear trap designed to kill humans or similarly sized creatures. After some work, Jack is confident that the trap is harmless now.

Farid ducks under the wire as he walks past, whether or not he needs to. "Odd. Why would they trap their own passages?"
