Does anyone else think that "Keep on the Shadowfell" has a lousy sound to it? I'm trying to figure out what exactly is wrong, and the best I get is that the stress on "Sha" is too strong. I much prefer the sound of "Shadowfell Keep". "Keep on the Borderlands" works for me, too. Are there any poetry / language folks out there that can explain this better?
I saw this thread title and, for one horrible moment, I thought that maybe they were releasing this adventure with a CD of actor-read flavour text and sound effects like they did in the early days of Mystara 2E.

(Shudder)

Shadowfell Keep does sound like a decent name, the only problem I could see is there would inevitably be people that would compare it it Shadowfang Keep. Which is a dungeon in WoW. Thus adding to the crys that WoW is become more "videogamy".

Keep on the Borderlands always sounded weird to me too. As a kid I always interpreted it to mean "stay on the borderlands". Even after I got the module it took me a while to get it (I must have been a slow kid)

I had this same problem, actually. I was fairly young at the time and not as much of an avid reader as i am now, so the mistake is understandable. (In fact, D&D helped me become a reader.)

I think WoW's as video-gamey as it's ever gonna be. :D :p

Actually, Shadowfell Keep is better, but I don't think it fits the adventure (its another keep, but "on the shadowfell"). Keep on the Shadow Rift?

Anyways, by the standards of 4thed so far, its ok as a name.

Just for the record, "Fell" is a term for a particular kind of seam in sewing. So it's kinda like a "rift" in the "fabric" of reality. Fell also has that "dark and foreboding" connotation, since it can mean "fierce," "cruel," "dreadful" or "savage."

So "Shadowfell" has got a nice, double meaning. Personally, I like it.

And I'll echo others that say "Keep on the Shadowfell" has the ring of being an homage to "Keep on the Borderlands." So it works for me.

Of course, I also defended "Golden Wyvern Adept." ;)
