RUMBLETiGER
Adventurer
Can't an Adventurer have superhuman skills with weapons, and we just ignore the application of realistic conditions, cause, it's, you know, D&D?
A narrow space is about as perfect a fighting area as you're going to get for a spear. I suppose if a longspear-wielding character was flanked in a narrow corridor, you could rule that they would have trouble attacking the opponent behind them... if you want to introduce facing to your game. The thought occurred to me that a fighter with a spiked chain or cleric with a longspear should not be able to use those weapons effectively in certain situations, such as if they were fighting in a 5x5 dungeon corridor, or in a doorway.
