Space Shuttle Columbia lost?

It pretty clearly went to pieces [edit: over North-Central Texas, during descent], but it's not clear what happened yet. They're warning people in East Texas not to go near any debris.

I believe Columbia was the oldest of the shuttle fleet.

Well we are seeing pictures of the re-entry... the shuttle is pretty clearly breaking up... it looks like it almost had a blow out at some point.

Just to confirm what Aitch Eye said, yes, Columbia was the oldest of the shuttles. Fox News and CNN are of course having live coverage of the unfolding events.

I pray for the crew and their families.
