That poison seems awfully strong, doesn't it?

The 2E Pseudodragon's venom put its victims into a coma for 1-6 days, so it's actually a lot weaker!

How about scaling the duration to the same ratio with the 3E pseudodragon?

2E Pseudodragon venom - catalepsy for 1-6 days (24-144 hours.)
2E Veera venom - confusion for 13-24 hours. (1/2th to 1/6th of Pseudo's)
3E Pseudodragon venom - sleep for 1-3 hours. (1/24th to 1/48th of 2E)

I can see two approaches:
1-3 hours divided by 2-6 gives us anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes.
13-24 hours divided by 24-48 gives us 16.25 to 60 minutes.

How about taking the lowest of each limit and calling it confusion for 10-60 minutes?

I'd be happy with the racial skill bonus approach.

Yes, I think we'd better use the same chameleon power as the Pseudodragon.

Having confusion for minutes is a lot more dangerous than being asleep for either days, hours or minutes. Not necessarily to the victim--put to sleep, coup de graced. But to all of the victim's party members, who now have their ally running around swinging a sword at them...

True enough, I don't mind cutting the duration if folk think it's too much. Or alternatively, we could have the confusion only randomly affect the victim for the first minute or so, and for the remaining 5-59 minutes the victim is either zonked out of their mind (=fascinated), retching uncontrollably (=nauseated) or running madly through the woods (=panicked), with an equal chance of each effect?
