But seriously, there's a group of players who in a certain sense, are just there to beat things up in the most simple, straightforward way possible.

Or steal things in the most simple, straightforward way possible; or cast spells in the most simple, straightforward way possible; or just play the game in general in the most simple, straightforward way possible.

It's not just a matter of "wake me when the shootin' starts", it's a matter of "get the bloody mechanics out of my way and let me play this character without having to think about them".

Most of the time, that's me.
