speed gives and jump bonus?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I was generating a character at http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm

and found out that is was giving characters with a speed of 40 a +4 bonus on jump checks. I cant seem to find this in the srd. Does anyone know if this is a real bonus or a mistake? I think I remember another generator doing this too.

A monk with a speed of 50 seems to get a +8 bonus.

this is the line it gives me

+8 [speed 50]

Am I ignorant or is this website wrong?

If your speed is less than 30 feet, you take a –6 penalty for every 10 feet of speed less than 30 feet. If your speed is greater than 30 feet, you gain a +4 bonus for every 10 feet beyond 30 feet."

No. All small creatures with a speed less than 30 do.

I believe Kobolds are the most notables who are small and retain a speed of 30. There are others, though.

Halflings, gnomes, dwarves, etc. Speed 20. -6 on jump checks.

Kobolds, goblins, ... uh, that one kind of small lizardman, etc. Speed 30. No jump check mod.

So remember that boots of springing and striding actually add +9 to your Jump checks for most people: +5 for the magic of the boots and +4 for the increased move rate.

Yep, this makes armor a double whammy when jumping. Armor check penalty and the speed hit penalty make jumping in full plate harder than swimming in full plate.

tomorrow I'm playing my barbarian monk fighter dervish with a speed of 45, so finding out he gets a bonus to jump, is awesome. I'm going to have to break it to the gnome and halfling in the party that they suck even more at jumping then before. mwhahah.
