what spell(s) would you use to replace affect normal fires?

For those without a 1st Ed. PH, _affect normal fires_ allows you to alter the light output of a normal flame or fire, from "matchlike" to "as bright as a _light_ spell". Given its short duration (1 round/level), limited usefulness (heat and/or damage are unaffected), and the fact that _light_ is a cantrip in 3.x, I'd say _affect normal fires_ should be a cantrip as well. If you want to substitute an existing cantrip, I'd go with either _light_, _dancing lights_, _prestidigitation_, or _flare_, in order of preference.
