Spell Cutout

I've been unable to purchase the last few issues of dragon magazine. Infact I haven't even scene them at the Borders where I usually buy them. So I was wondering about a spell cutout that I was told was in one of them or all of them. Is it useful? Is it/they on the piazo (I think that's the publisher' name) for DL? I know that they don't seem to be on the Wizards site.

On a side note what was the prog used to generate the maps of the week. Specifically the modern ones.

there's a spell area of effect template in issue 304 which i got yesterday. it's for cone shaped spells, and it will probably be useful, if you're using a battle mat or some other grid shaped playing serface. if you don't use minis/counters etc, then it will probably be no use at all...

Ok: C-U-T-O-U-T

The spell cutouts aren't even much use if you're using a battlemat. You're much better off either making your own (that way you have the right ones for the spells your players are using), or just counting the squares by hand each time.
