Spell Resistance Question

Note, though, that Half-Dragons have no spell like abilities. Of course, that is unless you're using Psionics, which Are considered Spell LIkes...

Or for those who prefer the actual books (the SRD can and has been wrong on occasion).
MM p215 -Half Dragon template.
Text is the same as above.

Thanks for everyone's input--I really appreciate it.

Just to clarify a couple of points from Lela's post:
Flame Strike is an area spell, not a "Target: You" spell or "Range: Touch" spell. The cleric just cast it in the next hex (5' away). I only used the phrase "essentially on himself" because I was trying to keep my question short. What I meant by "coming back" is simply that the cleric got caught in his own spell's effect--something that happens to magic-users occasionally. I've just never had this happen to a magic-user with SR.

I'm not quite sure how this changes anything from my post.

I understood this. He still hit himself, and rule applys. From your own post:

Isn't it clear? The sword cuts both ways here, you can't pick and choose.

Not a problem.

It doesn't make a difference one way or the other. It was still his spell, and that's all that matters. (Just trying to avoid confusion)
