Every character doesn’t do that. And that can be the most important thing in the game.Any character can do that...
Things that any character can do are non-solutions IMO.

But they all can?Every character doesn’t do that. And that can be the most important thing in the game.
Yeah. It would make more sense to say "get the player who takes notes and is always focused to play the Fighter and get the player who never pays attention to play the bard" that way there will be some kind of parity in social situations.Any character can do that...

But they all don’t. I’m sure you have DMed and noticed that. But they all can?
But what does this have to do with the price of eggs in China? But they all don’t. I’m sure you have DMed and noticed that.
I'm just baffled that anyone thinks this is even a viable solution. To me it look awful. It makes the clunky solutions to primal characters' ACs in 4e look like elegant design! While it's not a particularly great solution - it does solve the issue of fighters lacking non-combat stuff. They at least have something for that now.
The butterfly effect. It can change a nature one into a natural 20. If you want to give fighters a new cool ability i am all for it. If you tell me they can’t contribute meaningfully outside of combat then you have Little creativity. And I mean little. Just paying attention to the game and making connects and offering suggestions can be far more meaningful than any die roll outside combat. And a fighter should dominate combat like nobodies business. But what does this have to do with the price of eggs in China?
Or the bard can just pay attention himself and the fighter starts sucking again.Of course Fighters can contribute. They can tell the bard what to say and then the bard can say it.
I have a fighter in a Group i DM that does that all the time. It’s got to the point that the bard consults the fighter on what he want to know from an NPC in advance.Of course Fighters can contribute. They can tell the bard what to say and then the bard can say it.
