- Some weapons can *only* be fired in Multifire / Autofire mode (i.e., there's no way to shoot a single shot with them). IIRC, the LRBR is one of them. If you're armed with such a weapon, you can *only* attack with a full attack action.

Good point. That's what I get for doing it from my head ... :)

- While Rapid Shot works just fine with vehicle / starship weapons, Multishot only provides an effect if that weapon has a multifire / autofire option (I've seen it on speeder-based weapons, but I don't think I've ever seen it on a starship weapon.)

Almost all starship energy weapons are multifire / autofire capable. Anything described as a blaster or double laser is multifire capable, and anything described as a quadlaser is autofire capable.

Lightsaber: 2d8 (crit: 19-20 x3), no strength bonus applies.

No Strength bonus? Since when? The guy didn't ask for House Rules...

I can see why str wouldn't apply, but thats not in the book.

I wasn't aware of that rule...do you have a page listing for it?

Uh, in the Revised Core Rulebook, it's under ... Starship Tactics? I don't actually have my book with me, but the text I transcribed into the starship operation character sheets I put together for my group goes as follows:

Me said:
Double lasers, adjoining weapons, and all blasters may be set to multifire; gain an additional attack when using the full-attack action, and all attacks suffer a -4 penalty.

Quadlasers may be set to autofire; gain two additional attacks when using the full-attack action, and all attacks suffer a -6 penalty

I've attached the starship operation sheets in the following thread, in case they sound of interest to you: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=139790

I can see why the Str bonus wouldn't apply. Since it can cut through anything (almost) like butter it doesn't matter how hard you swing but how fast.

In this case I would apply the dexterity bonus instead.

How fast you swing somwthing is a function of how hard you swing it. Dex may cover how fast you react, but strength governs how fast you can swing stuff.

You've never played Badmonton have you???

You can bench press 350 and still hit the bird like a pussy.

On the other hand a 90 pound chineese guy can hit that thing so hard you don't know what hits you until you find yourself on the floor with a welt on your forhead.

It's all in your wrist. The lighter the weapon is (and I assume that lightsabres are light) the less you need to heft it around, and that's where the finesse comes in. Try it with a badmonton racket. Swing first with your arm and see how hard you hit, then use your wrist instead...BIG difference.

But if you watch the movies again you'll see everyone swinging HARD in multiple cases. One definite case of strength being used is Qui-Gon burning through the Trade Federation bulkhead. Look at him when he pushes the blade through...it takes serious effort/strength. And there's also the final duel between Luke and Vader. Watch the last part where Luke is attacking like crazy, hitting harder each time and pushing Vader down. That's definitely strength.
