Spelljammer: Starfarers (at last!)

[sorry, boys. I've been really busy lately with school starting, and a friend of mine lost his dad... But ON WITH THE GAME! :) I've diced initiative, and am carrying it in my binder. At school, I can sneak EnWorld at 9:30 am pst]

The universe seems to stop and Rhyamyr's pistolfire connects with a zhentilar soldier. (rolled 17 to hit, 8 to damage!) He (the soldier) grimaces with pain and falls to his knees, but is still hanging on.

Four Zhentilar Thugs charge Tam, Rhamyr, and Westenberger...

Manabu... WHAT DO YOU DO?

Elisia's arrow flies true (rolled a 10 on the attack, 3 on the damage), and the Zhentilar nailed begins a hail of profanity.

"Cursed half-woman!"

Tam shifts to his manic mood, and leaps, placing his jackbooted foot into the face of the Zhentilar that was cursing at Elisia for shooting him. In that same instant, Tam's sword, rotating fast as he whirls his wrist, comes down, slicing the man's studded leather armor and cutting a deep gash messily from shoulder to opposite thigh. The Zhentilar has time for a scream as he falls to the ground. Tam's bloodstained form seems to cast a larger shadow than it does...

(It's manabu's initiative once the surprise round is over...)
 


Manabu uses his dorje of disable on the thugs, attempting to center the effect behind them to avoid catching Tam, Rhamyr and Westenberger.

(Disable works like color spray, affects 2d4 HD, lowest HD first, Will save DC 11, affected inviduals think they have 0 hp left, are likely to flee or surrender)
 


(rolls 5 for the 2d4 roll)

One Zhentilar soldier drops to the ground, clutching a wound that doesn't exist.

Westenberger merely takes a stance with steelheart, and issues a taunt: "Hah! Looks like the rabble are real busy today!"

[ooc: Krug, this is the surprise round. Initiative will be rolled after Caelano takes his surprise action. Hopefully Chieromancer hasn't jumped ship]

No, but Caelano is readying a cross-bow attack for when someone attempts to board the EI. Hopefully I have some cover and something to rest the crossbow upon.

I'll also cover any withdrawal that our side may attempt to make. E.g. if Rhamyr goes down and Tam heroically tries to pull him to safety, I'll start to fire at anyone trying to interfere with the attempted retreat.
 


As soon as Rhamyr finds footing on the deck of the Black Fist, a figure leaps from the shadows in his direction. The gnome prepares to attack this barely-glimpsed assailant, but he is unprepared for the sight that now greets him. Unbelievably, a blue monkeyman bathed in a brilliant yellow glow bounds over his head, screaming in some language that sounds like the worst combination of screeching and chattering he has ever heard. Rhamyr spins to avoid a back attack only to realize that the monkeyman is, in fact, coming to his aid.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend!" screams Zhangyong [in Vanaran] as he bounds over the mini-human [what are these creatures?] to leap on the enemy soldier behind him, slashing at the Zhentilar with his tulwar (scimitar) and bich'wa (dagger).

OOC: The yellow glow is from a Shield of Faith spell that Zhangyong has cast on himself.
