Contingency is definitely not worth it for a Sorceror. It's great for a Wizard, since the Wizard can cast Contingency and then memorize something else in its place. For a Sorceror, it's a dead spell slot that can't be replaced by something else. Sorcerors should cast Contingency from a scroll.

Ya, you're probably right with that. There are too many good 6th level spells to waste one on Contingency and in 7th you got Limited Wish to do it, too.

I usually refrain from using scrolls as an argument against a spell, tho, because in some (actually many I suppose) campaigns you can not simply buy any magic item in the book freely.

Wind Wall: what?! Total immunity to projectile weapons isn't good enough for you? Projectile weapons are immensely powerful, and this is the ultimately defense against them. Couple this with fly and laugh at non-spell using foes.

Not to mention the fact that it is THE BEST defence against flying halfling fighters! Or gnomish rogues, etc.

I've never seen a sorc using "Tenser's Floating Disc". And what about "Scrying"? I mean, always carrying a mirror around plus a casting of 10 min (IIRC), ah no...

The Rogue5/Sor1 took TFD. She wanted to be able to carry loot out.
