My sorcerer took Scrying. It's great! Even though it takes an hour to cast, and only lasts a minute per level. Those higher level slots are too useful to get Greater Scrying in.
What's wrong with Flesh to Stone? It's basically an instant-kill spell like Disintegrate and doesn't require an attack roll.Zhure said:... Flesh to Stone. What could be less sorcerous than that?
I take the contrarian stance. First of all, Identify scales with level, which is an important fact to consider when choosing a Sorceror's spells. Second, you can do this in the field, whereas going back to town to have them do it can be damn inconvenient, not to mention the debit to one's gold reserves.Urbanmech said:How about Identify? With a casting time of 8 hours it really isn't a great choice for one of your limited 1st lv spells.
Contingency is definitely not worth it for a Sorceror. It's great for a Wizard, since the Wizard can cast Contingency and then memorize something else in its place. For a Sorceror, it's a dead spell slot that can't be replaced by something else. Sorcerors should cast Contingency from a scroll.Thanee said:
Analyze Dweomer or Contingency might also be worth it.
