Yeah, I probably won't use all of it either, but I like having more options, and S&S really does deliver on that front, moreso than any other D&D book I've seen. Glad my review helped win you over. I could tell it was going to useful just on a first flip-through, but it kept blowing my mind with each new section (spells not included, LOL). I *almost* did my "I love Spycraft" underwear dance, except I was at a friend's house and his wife and kids wouldn't have liked that very much.
As far as the spells go, a lot of them are low level utility spells, like "I put my spellbook back on the shelf telekinetically." There are a few really fun, scary spells, like "Pack of Ghouls" (Clr 4) which summons up 3d4 ghouls to do your evil bidding for 1 round/level. Some of the spells have cool names like "Malediction of Razors" but aren't that good once you get past the title.
If you're buying S&S for new spells, you will be disappointed, IMO. If you're buying it to mine for new ideas and inspirations for all spellcasting characters and how magic works in general in your game, you should be both impressed and delighted with your purchase!
