Spending Skill Points

Just a sanity check here - do I have this right?:

1. Cross-class skills require 2 skill points for one rank.

2. Class skills require 1 skill point per rank.

3. You can spend as many skill points on any skill as you desire as long as you do not exceed what you have available, and you cannot "save" skill points from level to level. (This is correct, right?) edit: Limited by max ranks, of course.

4. If you mutli-class, the maxium number of ranks you can have for any class skills for [beither[/b] class is level + 3.

5. When advancing in any class of a multi-class PC, skill points are spent based upon the class you inwhich are advancing (as far as class and cross-class skill point costs).

Therefore one could for example, be a 9th level bard with 18 Int with no ranks in Spot and take a level in Rogue and immediately buy 13 ranks fo Spot (8 for Rogue, 1 for human, 4 for Int bonus).

Did I get all that right or did I miss something that I really should already know?

Looks right. Cross-class skills count as class skills for the purposes of max ranks when multiclassing. Of course, in (3) you're limited by max ranks.

Thanks. Got it. Edited the above.

Kind of weird that you can go from a poor spotter to among the best in one level, but, what the heck, "suspension of disbelief" works wonders.

I agree that the rules have been read correctly.

Hey, this guy has a 180 IQ and apparently did some serious focused studying in detection & spotting (and nothing else). Seems plausible to me he'd get pretty good pretty fast.
