Spider-Man vs a Great Wyrm Black Dragon

So, we just finished watching a preview for Spider-Man 3, and then the kids broke out the D&D minis, including the Gargantuan Black, which brought a visual soaring into my skull...

Spider-Man web slinging around this dragon, in flight, tumbling past claws, webbing it around the mouth, somersaulting past a wing to land on it's back...my imagination just went with it.

So, that got me back onto a little mental exercise I'd been indulging in for a while...trying to simulate comic-book style supers with D&D characters. I'd settled on gestalt for greatest effect, with the following concepts...

Spider-Caster - Gestalt Sorcerer/Rogue with web, true strike, animate rope, ability score buffs, and other spells to emulate Spidey.

Shadow-Knight - Gestalt Paladin/Rogue, stalking the urban jungle Batman style.

Anybody else have cool fantasy-supers concepts that could be achieved with gestalts?

I see Spidey much more as a single-class monk with a spider template ... spiderclimb, web and other stuff.

Ah yeah... and that level 9 Foresight spell plus Uncanny Dodge.

Given his origin, Spiderman ought to be a human with some form of arachnoid template. Add lots of Rogue levels for Improved Evasion, Tumble, Sneak Attack etc., maybe along with some of the Skill Trick-based PrCs from Complete Scoundrel for the agility and special moves.

Warlocks make a nice basis for many superheroes, given their limited range of unlimited-use powers. I made a very playable version of Nightcrawler using the Spiderwalk and Flee the Scene invocations amongst others.

...and one way or another, he has to have Improved Evasion, and of course maxed-out Tumble

Shadowcat is a gestalt rogue-monk who multiclasses into shadowdancer

Wolverine is a gestalt barbarian-ranger with a template that gives him crazy regeneration, light fortification (at least), scent and retractable grafted adamantium spiked gauntlets.

Iron Man is a high-level expert with an artifact-level suit of full plate.

the Incredible Hulk is a lycanthrope (specifically, a were-deity)

The Joker is a gestalt bard-rogue

Magneto is probably a sorcerer-wizard with a very specific spell list

Storm is a sorcerer-fighter

Mystique is a doppelganger ninja-fighter

Captain America is a Fighter-Monk with all those PHBII shield feats

I've built the Hulk as a barbarian/frenzied berserker troll.

I have a version of Wolverine who is a anthropomorphic wolverine with the feral template and barbarian/fighter levels. He doesn't have the adamantine, but I figured that would make him too recognizable.

I recently played a cleric/righteous cohort of Kiri Jolith who was trying to be captain america, focusing on his shield and his ability to improve those around him more than his fighting ability. If I were doing gestalt I'd add in Marshal.
