There's an intelligent spider race in Oriental Adventures, but for the life of me I cant remember what they're called. I'll have to look it up when I get back home.

That one's the Dokufu. It's so similar to the aranea, though, that I'm surprised they didn't just go with some kind of classed or templated aranea.

(Then again, I never quite understood why they made an Oni monster when they already had created the Ogre-Mage for the game- which seemed intended to be the same thing, so what do I know?)

BTW, these are some great responses- thanks for the help! I'm going to try and compile a more complete list of all of these as they come in; probably separate the arachnids from the arachnoids, as well as sources. Didn't realize there were quite so many spider-men as there are!

Monsters of Faerun: Sword spider, hairy spider, myrlochar
Fiend Folio: Chwidencha
MMII: Shadow spider
MMIII: Harpoon spiders, lhosk
City of Splendors - Waterdeep: Watchspider
City of the Spider Queen: Wraith spiders, jade spider, arachnoid creature

Jungle Spider (Dragon #317)
Mercurial Spider (Dragon #341)

Hive Spider (Dungeon #92)
Hastendeath Spider (Dungeon #138)

More from Dragon Magazine:

55 - Devil spider
67 - Barrel spider, boleadore spider, net-throwing/fishing spider, crab spider, daddy longlegs, jumping spider, raft/swamp spider, spitting spider, trap-door/purse spider, whip spider, wolf spider
118 - Opilionid, spider cat, phoenix spider, polar spider, giant bolas spider
243 - Spider-horse
244 - Xakhun spider
Annual #2 - Snow spiders

we have...Spider God and Spider, Salt.

Want the stats?

Don't need the stats, at least not at the moment. Though if you could give some more info on that Spider God, that would be cool. Is it a literal god (this is Deities & Demigods, so probably)?

Which reminds me- there's that Miska the Wolf-Spider. Is he/it a literal spider of some sort? Anyone know more about him?

He's a unique demon. Here's how we describe him on the Creature Catalogue:

Miska appears as an enormous half-human half-wolf spider. He has three heads. The central head is human and stunningly handsome; two sleek and terrible wolf heads flank the human one. He has four massive arms covered with long, stiff hairs.

The fur on the wolf heads is rust red, as are the hairs on Miska’s arms. His human head has long, flowing hair as black as night. His spider body is blue-black, like a knife blade discolored by flame, and marked with bands of gray, silver, and blue. His arms are as white as bleached ivory.

Chitine (3E Monsters of Faerun? Underdark)
Chitine are indeed in both. The arachnoid creature template from City of the Spider Queen also appears in Underdark.

The chelicera (a mindless vermin) appears in Monster Manual III, as does the harpoon spider (an intelligent abberation), along with the lhosk, a drider-like creature with a gorilla head and torso instead of a drow head and torso.

Cool- I was just thinking of checking out the Creature Catalog to see if he and the Queen of Chaos might be there (just checked- I see she's not very spiderlike :()

That does remind me, though- I seem to recall Erik or James talking about a fourth subtype of demon that didn't make the cut in the Fiendish Codex that was spiderlike. Someone mentioned it, and they said there hadn't been enough of them previously appearing to warrant their inclusion. Does that ring any bells with anyone?

[EDIT- NM. Found what I was thinking of- Spyder-Fiends. Nobody seems to be big fans of them, though. Wonder why that is?]

Check 'em out on the Creature Catalogue and you'll see why. Much like the spawn of Tiamat, they are too much of the same thing with few differences.
