I've been know to do my own sound effects.
I don't think there's anything genetic about it; I think it's cultural. Think about the kinds of games you played as a little kid. I was lucky enough to have a sister fairly close in age to me; and comparing how we played, I think I unconsciously learned how to do sound effects at an extremely young age. My 20-mo already does some pretty impressive ones. My daughter has no interest in doing sound effects, aside from maybe a meow, or a pony sound now and then.Queen_Dopplepopolis said:I was told once, as a young girl, that "girls can't make sound effects." As such, I have spent a large portion of my life attempting to perfect various sounds. I'm still not as good as the guys, but I've got talent for a woman.
In the end - I think that it's a guy thing b/c girls just aren't quite as good at it. Something in our genetic makeup prevents us from being the masters of replicating non-human sounds... But - that's made up for with our soft skin and silky hair.![]()

That last sentence is my attempt to cover up the fact that I don't think I could *not* make sound effects if I tried.whenever one of the enemies ran in or through the creek, I made splish-splash sounds. Just trying to keep the ambience up.
