[spoiler] Spike?

The only way Dawn could become a Slayer would be if Faith or Buffy died. Technically there's only supposed to be one, but Buffy's multiple deaths have thrown a wrench in the works. Faith may be in jail, but she is still a Slayer....the most recent one, in fact, and IMHO the one who holds the trigger to the next one.

p.s. fourth is spelled "forth" in this context

The Slayer line only passes through Faith now. Buffy's second death did not cause the activation of a new slayer.

This has been stated by Joss in interviews. So it's not just your humble opinion. :D

Hmm. I doubt Faith will ever appear on Buffy again, although it would be nice. But Eliza Dushku is working on her movie career and is "busy with projects" that her schedule won't leave her available for the TV show.

I think we have already seen the last of Faith. Her story has been wrapped up on Angel.

There's a big difference between being a regular on a show and doing a spot or two.

I don't see how they can kill off a slayer without having it happen on screen. So Faith might come back for her death scenes. But if Dawn becomes a slayer without the previous one dying, Buffy won't be the firrst show to break its own rules.

Hey did anyone else notice that Dawn uses Spike's line ("I got your back") in the grave scene? I think Spike as Dawn's watcher is completely plausible.

PS

I just don't see it. The Watcher's Council is not going to agree with that, and so is Giles and Buffy.

Ever since Dawn learned of sister's rape incident, her attitude toward Spike will be different.

But I don't mind seeing Willow, after she took responsibility for killing a human, albeit a despicable one, taking the mantle. Then again, Xander might just step up, after being a do-nothing hanger-on all this time.

Um, remind me again, how is Xander useful to the Scooby Gang? :p

How important is Xander?

Dude, he's the one with the Craft skills. Who else rebuilds those walls, tables, bannisters, etc when they get trashed week after week?

Besides, as noted above, he's the normal one. We've GOT to have one of those, or it's simply a freak show. Someone has got to be grounded in the real world.
