Spontaneous Casting

First Post
Quick question guys. I swear in the SRD it said that a Spontaneous casting of a cure/inflict spell took a full round action. However, now I can not find that reference.

Anyone know where this information is or if its even correct?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any such rule. However, that might make a cool house rule if you want to give Clerics a _small_ incentive to actually prepare a few CLWs...I don't see a need for such a thing, though.

An example of why you would need such a thing :
3ed is about choices, and preparing cure spells is no more a choice, since it's useless.

Giving a small bonus to prepared cures would make it a choice again.

IMC, we house ruled that prepared spells use D10, and spontaneous use D6.
(ok, that's not _small_ :p)

I understand this and that is fine for your game...however, I find too many house rules to be cumbersome and confusing to my players(who have enough trouble with the core rules). So I am loathe to introduce a house rule unless it fixes a serious balance problem(like Harm) or it somehow makes the game significantly more fun. Other's have more 'liberal' criteria for the introduction of house rules and might want to do something like this. I don't believe that spontaneous casting is seriously broken, nor would this rule make the game more fun, so...IMO, why bother?

Of course Cure spells get prepared...

- by non-Clerics (Druids, Rangers, Paladins)
- by evil Clerics
- for metamagic (especially higher than 4th level slots)
