D&D 5E Spotcheck - 10th Level - What's the coolest Character Race/Class Combo (and why?)

Ok, so I've been invited to play in a D&D game, but it starts at 10th level by the standards of the campaign.

Sooo, what I'd like is a thread for some inspiration. :)

What character combos are cool, powerful, fun or whatever for YOU at 10th Level? If you could provide some stats (assume the Characteristics are standard array at 1st level), a description and a discussion of why you think it rocks, then that would be great!

Well, for me nothing tops the combo of player's favorite race + player's favorite class, because no nifty mechanical widget adds more enjoyment to the game than genuine interest and excitement to play the character does. Doesn't even come close.

That said, here are combos from characters in my campaigns that my players count among their favorites:

Human battle master fighter specializing in area denial with a polearm
Half-elf undying patron tome pact warlock with a mix of necromancy, evocation, and sword fighting as their "go-to"
Eladrin thief rogue crossbow expert
Dwarf eldritch knight fighter with that uses the tools of his various trades as weapons (primarily a sledge hammer [maul] and a pick axe [great axe that does piercing damage])
Human lore college bard that is a drunken wreck trying to sort his life out
Gnome sun soul monk wandering the world studying martial philosophy and skill
And my own personal favorites of human champion fighter focused on use of any/every weapon and style, and human evoker wizard that also keeps some handy transmutations prepared

i'd be tempted by a wizard, because you'd definitely get to play around with those spells that we all know the names of, but rarely get to see in play. That could be fun.

Coolest? level 10 Water Genasi Silver Dragonblood Sorcerer. Ice, Ice, baby.

Fun? Lightfoot Halfing Wild Mage 7 / Bard 3 with the lucky Feat. Be the master of fate, or at least it's friend with benefits.

Thematic? Aarakocra Totem Barbarian. Be the Eagle.

Something I would like to try? A "Tunnel Rat" Elven Ranger Deep Stalker 5/ Rogue Assassin 3/Fighter 2 (going into Battle master for one level, then continue on your merry way however you like.). Maximum Ambushing, then skitter away to hide and strike again.

The DragonBlood Sorcerer is a new one, and the Wizard always appeals. So too does a Warlock in some ways.

Having a full on Battlemaster of some sort does also, to fully test it out. The PoleMaster could work with the right feats. I'm also wondering where I could take an unconventional race like a Gnome as BattleMaster too.

I have thought about playing a Dwarven Skald (Bard) as an interest, although I may get a bot bored after a while possibly.

Keep 'em coming!

The coolest thing right this minute is a Halfling rogue con artist who gets into trouble in his hometown and has to burn his identity. So he flees to another city, styles himself as a knight in some ridiculous, imaginary fey court who's been stranded in the Prime Material and seeking his trusty steed (a corgi or an giant owl or something) so he can go back home to this fairyland he's cooked up. He buys a suit of leather that's styled like gothic jousting plate, affects courtly manners and bearing, and passes himself off as a cavalier with a storied past, sort of a Baron Munchausen flim-flam.

He keeps the ruse up for a long time, learning all he can about courtly etiquette, the fey, and martial tactics (take some levels in fighter, battlemaster or eldritch knight both work,) and has gotten comfortable enough in the persona that he likes being that character better than he liked himself before. While he's secretly, deeply ashamed that his new life is a lie, his chivalrous behavior has become a source of pride, and he's earned high regard among the people of his new home.

The DM has a few juicy options for further development at this point. The little knight could find some magical device or creature and declare it to be his long lost steed, his past could be revealed in some spectacular fashion, his old associates could come in search of him, either to kill him or to blackmail him now that he's a man of (snicker) stature. Some fey entity could take notice of his deception and either punish him or praise him for it, or even fabricate a little barony in faerie to support his ruse. There are all sorts of directions in which this character could develop.

Possibly a caster as well those awesome high level spells. I have a 10th level fighter BM9/barb1 with polearm master sentinel GWF who is pretty fun to play just step up mark your kill zone rage and dare anyone to have a go. On another not i am currantly running a assassin4/paladin 0(he will be taking paladin from now on) as well sneak up on some one drop a max lvl smite and auto crit for the 1shot kill

I'm not 10th level (that would be awesome)
But here is the early levels....

Dwarf Valorous Bard/Warlock (Blade)
I call him the hammer singer!
I named him Ollum Hammersong
Collect history books of famous Dwarf Heroes (This is how he ended up making a pact with a very old Dwarf who resides in the feywild, thinks he is emulating his hero)
Writing his own Biography of his travels and Victories in battle, securing his own inflated ego.
Looking For Dwarven Artifacts
Ornery, Hot tempered, Loud, Scandalous
Make a Gun sign with your hands to shoot your Eldritch Blast
Dissonant Whispers, Tasha's hideous laughter,
Vicious mockery, Hex your victim, and hammer him to death, Rinse repeat....

Sing Irish Pub songs, and bring the hammer down.
Can "call" your hammer for role play effect.
Speak in your best Yosemite Sam voice (No need for a Scottish accent)
Favorite phrases:
"It's Hammer slappin' time!"
"You'll hear me hammer sing"
"Ooooooooo I hates Goblins"
You elf's is long eared Galoots"
Thems Fight'n Words"
"When I say Whoa I mean WHOA!"
"That's what I get fer trustin' a Elf"
"Any of you Lily livered Varmints wanna slap hammers wit me?"

Enjoy
