I just joined this board, via my Hubby who is a rpg from old I think. He is TroyXavier, I moved from Uk to Us to be with him. I want to find out bout SpyCraft and maybe learning how to build a good character and play online or in a group near where I live with Troy.

Were In Indianapolis, Indy. Oh by the way I learning DnD with Troy's healp.. But I found I like SpyCraft and Mutants and Masterminds better..

Well, I'm pretty keen on Spycraft 2.0 (I'm putting together a World War II era pulp adventure primer for my players at the moment, in fact). That said, I'm a pretty die-hard method actor when it comes to roleplaying and so are most of my players, so our "good" characters tend to be less about squeezing the most mechanical effectiveness out of a system than about molding the rules to emulate a specific concept. So, for me, the best advice I can offer on building a character is:

1. Brainstorm a character concept appropriate to the game you're playing.
2. Use the rules to emulate that character concept as closely as possible.

Oh, and BTW - welcome to ENWorld!

You may want to head on over to the Spycraft boards on AEG's website. http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=18&sid=81c8502fa2116ef8edc97ca4b8f1a4ee
They are a nice and friendly bunch over there, who are always happy to help out.

You might check out the gamers seeking gamers forums if looking for a group. I doubt there is a spycraft 2 game going, but you could probably post your interest in one and find players who want to play in the area.

Welcome to ENWorld, Lisa! Tell Troy we said hi! I remember his name from a long time ago on these (or maybe Wizards of the Coasts'?) boards.

Several resources:

http://www.alderac.com/forum/ Alderac, the company who made Spycraft. Their forums are available in a link under their "Spycraft RPG" section.

Gamers seeking Gamers is our forum for helping gamers meet up with live groups. Indianapolis is a GREAT area for gamers, I'm told, and it's the yearly spot for the Gencon Game Fair, a huge convention of gamers from around the world.

ENWorld itself tries to make as welcoming atmosphere as we can to all gamers, in particular gamers who play d20 based games like D&D and Spycraft. If you have any questions, please ask, and if you find any examples of rudeness towards you, feel free to report it to the moderators ('report a post' icon in each post) - we try to make it as friendly as we can to everyone.
