I've updated the SRD 3.5 on my site. Changes:

- Many error fixes.
- Domains are now in the database and XML data formats.

Further, these formats are available:

Hyperlinked HTML Files, for browsing (Monster images included)
  • Offline Searchable HTML version of the SRD 3.5
  • Plain Hyperlinked HTML version of the SRD 3.5
  • Windows Help File (.chm) version

XML files, for parsing
  • Custom XML version with XSL for HTML conversion
  • Hyperlinked DocBook XML version. Monster images included.

Database
  • MySQL, MS and XML data

Enjoy!

EDIT: Link in sig... ;)

Very cool.. as always.. Great job :)

Since our formats are different and the fact I have not decided on a license yet I can't use it but I still enjoy seeing your continued work in the computerized d20 movement :)

Actually, I don't see why you couldn't use it for a commercial project. The database and XML are pure OGL, there's no code in there.

There's only javascript in the searchable browser, and that I've labeled "free for non commercial use" because I used other code snippets for which I'm unsure.

So, bottom line, I see no problem with using the data. Go right ahead.

Thanks for your awesome work Andargor !

Your searchable SRD saves me loads of time, when planning and when I need to find something quickly without disrupting too much the flow of the game.

Do you have plans to add a search capability to pcgen's LST files ;) ?

Yer welcome! Although I don't know the use of searching PCGen's LST... :)

I had discussed with the PCGen people to integrate the SRD reference with the program. But there were other more important things to do. I'm also doing most of the Epic dataset, so after that we'll see.

I'm working on a browser application that will have much more powerful features that the current searchable SRD, e.g. customizable searches, different views, etc. Things that are very difficult to code in plain javascript for multiple browsers (a PITA). Slated for Windows, then Linux, then possibly Mac if I can get some help from developers.

I'm often finding myself wondering "where is this spell/feat/class/monster from ? ".
I usually "grep -r " the lst files, but it's not really pretty :)
It's still better than manually indexing all my books, though.

Microsoft Access and MS SQL databases available

Lex and teknohippy have graciously converted the 1.3 MySQL database to MS Access and MS SQL.

They are available on my site (click on sig or here).

Work is progressing slowly but surely towards a 1.4 release with many more fixes.

Regards,

Andargor
