SRD spells are pre-errata versions

I was checking out the now released spells in the srd and in looking up polymorph self I noticed it is the pre-errata version allowing shifts into multiple forms during the spell's duration.

They did change it so that it doesn't say "same as poly other except . . ." but has all details of the spell in the spell description.

Sigh, it would have been really nice to have the errata incorporated.

Anybody notice anything else about the spells (besides the proper name deletions)?

Are they? I've been meaning to look into that. It's disappointing too.

However, this is not a real problem. The tactics section of an encounter is the only place something like this can become apparent. Poly self is one of the few spells with significant errata but how many times do you encounter a poly self using character.

You guys better report the errata to them directly.

Which brings my next question to all d20 publishers and OGL/OGC experts: If an OGC contains error, and you correct it, is the original OGC still available for use by other publishers?

And if you were to do a revised edition of your product, do you update S15 to include the title, author, and copyright date of the original edition?

Reg,

Do you know the e-mail of who to send the errata notice to?

as for your questions

1 Yes. They are two different bits of OGC. Once released as OGC anybody can use that original OGC from now until eternity under the OGL.

2 They are not obligated to. Revising other people's OGC you would need to update S15. The material could even be published again not under the ogl (such as WotC publishing feats again in WoT and CoC after releasing the feats srd) as long as they have the rights to the material.

Your best bet is to track down the address of the intern who is doing the actual work right now. He probably knows about the errata situation.

Actually the topic title is incorrect. The text to Polymorph Other in the OGC version is different than the PHB and T&B version of the spell. Do anyone know if the Dragon version is different than the T&B version? I did a comparison on the OGL-L mailing list: http://mail.opengamingfoundation.org/pipermail/ogf-l/2002-September/002521.html

While doing that I also noticed the following:

None of the material componenets were made part of the OGC versions.

None of the spells refer to other spells any more. Charm monster and charm person share the same writeup except for the few words where charm person only effects humanoids: This charm makes a |creature|humanoid of Medium-size or smaller| regard the character as a trusted friend and ally. I'm not sure if I like the loss of the internal references. It made it much easier to grok the spells when it says this spell is like another except. The Summon spells are particularly wordy.
