But how much better is it for re-use under the OGL?
Each spell becomes a standalone entity, and can be cut and pasted into the relevant section - without referring to other spells you either leave the reader unable to refer to or have to reproduce every time.
It also means if I'm using the SRD for spell reference and want to know what spell X does, the ONLY place I need to look is spell X. As long as the text is correct, the only thing you need to "grok" is the text in front of you...
I'm all for atomic spell texts.
