SRD updates: where are they?

Anyone know where I can find a fully updated version of the SRD? Or is the copy at the open gaming foundation THE copy? If so, then the monsters are not apporved yet.

Hmm.. The OGF thing should be the most accurate... You could also try the WotC site, but I think it's the same.

The best source is the OGF, and yes the monsters and spells and such are not yet approved, however they are available under the "gentleperson's agreement." Which means essentially go ahead and use it, but don't abuse it and don't be surprised if some things change.

Here's a quick question. If there are already monsters like ogres, orcs, and other common critters, skeletons, etc... in modules that are declared Open Game Content, then even if Wizards of the Coast never gets around to releasing the rest of the SDR, or changes their mind about it, at this point does it really matter since they can't take back what's already been declared OGC?

Technically, they can. Because the license specifically state you cannot Open a closed content (those that have not yet been approved) or declare it as OGC.

Personally, I hope that Wizards would hurry up the approval process and formally release the rest of the SRD sections based on the three Dungeons & Dragons core rulebooks BEFORE they move on to release d20 Modern rules as OGC.

Hehehe. There should be a betting pool about this. :D

Or how about the changes to the SRD itself they promised? Something about saying "Requires a WotC d20 core book" instead of "requires the D&D PHB".

I believe you are referring to the d20STL or the d20 System Trademark License and the companion Trademark Usage Guide, not the System Reference Document.

The OGF's list members have received a preview of the Guide's next version (beta) that would allow more leeway, but so far the Wizards' Legal team have not yet approve it.

As I said before, some changes could be made prior to November. After all, d20 Modern will eventually be added to the trademark use.
