stacking fast healing

Does fast healing from different sources stack? The Vigor line explicitly states that it does not stack with itself, so that implies a general rule that fast healing does normally stack. If that's the case, could two clerics with sacred healing (or one cleric over 2 turns) give fast healing 6?

multiple similiar effects that grant the same ability do not stack. standard rule.

Likely, the vigor spells state the specifically to prevent troll druids from having too much fun.

I know of no standard rule that states this. Please cite a reference.

Actually, no. Unless there is a general rule (hence my question), the vigor spell would work just fine on a troll. The spell description only disallows stacking multiple vigor spells - it says nothing about other sources of fast healing.

They don't stack. Say you have Fast Healing 5, and a spell is cast on you to give you Fast Healing 5. You now have two separate effects giving you Fast Healing 5, not Fast Healing 10. Unless an ability says it adds 5 to your Fast Healing, then the two abilities will simply overlap. It can be useful if the ability gives you Fast Healing higher than what you usually have, though.

Which leads to another related question... would any fast healing (or regeneration for that matter) be affected by the feat Faster Healing? ... I also seem to remember a magic item that doubles healing rates...

So would the combo Fast Healing + Faster Healing (feat) + double healing rate (item) be admissable by the rules? hehe I wouldn´t allow as DM but still... ;)

Then, why the need for the clarification in the vigor spell line? "Exception that proves the rule" and all that.

Because it is clarifying text. Lots of spells have clarifying text.
A "clarification" that restates a general rule as a specific rule insead doesn't clarify anything. If that was, indeed, intended as a clarification, the writer should be shot.
