Stand Up Comedy

Robin Williams - my all-time favorite; a DEITY among comedians, I'll watch him any time he's on, and if there's ever a choice of comedians, anyone else gets kicked for Williams.

beyond him: most of the ones mentioned: Izzard, Kinison (RIP), Alonzo Bowden, Bernie Mac, Tess, and Rita Rudner.

I usually don't like Steve Harvey's stuff, but his routine about "being on the Titanic" on Kings of Comedy really surprised me - he's pretty good.

Wow, I must be just about the only person who doesn't like George Carlin's humor at all. Or at least, very rarely. I don't know if he counts, but I nominate Conan O'Brien. That guy's hilarious.

Although technically he's not a stand-up comedian, really. Except for his opening monologue.

Dana Carvey's mid-90's HBO special had me in tears. I can recite the entire "Framin' OJ" segment to this day.

I was lucky enough to get to see Mitch Hedburg, Dave Attell, and Lewis Black on their tour in 2003. Mitch was, of couse, -hysterical-, Dave Attell cracked me up more than I thought he would, and I thought for more than a second that I was going to pass out from laughter at Lewis Black. He's intense on his specials -- live, he will actually leap up and down onstage. It's awesome.

Robin Williams and Eddie Izzard round out my list. I need to see more of their stuff. And Chris Rock! Almost forgot Chris Rock.

You're not really the only one. He has his moments though, the story of his dog (with only one ball) humping his cat had me in tears.

I'd have to go Mitch. I also like Chapelle, Dave Atell, Vince Morris, Chris Rock, and Richard Pryor. Bill Cosby to some extent as well.
