Star*Drive Aliens

Actually, from what I remember, the original game and series of adventures assumed that the players were mercenaries working for the Pan-Galactic corporation.

If you're interested in running a Star*Drive game in d20, I have a number of resources you might find handy, including converted weapons and armor as well as a chargen spreadsheet. Check the link in my .sig below.

I removed support for the Star Frontiers races a while back, because I needed the room in my data tables, but recently I've expanded my race tables so that I can gradually begin adding the races from Dawning Star: Helios Rising and Blood & Space 2: Prometheus Rising, as well as the other PC races that appear in the Star*Drive Alien Compendia. I don't know when that project will bear fruit, but if you have a specific request, let me know.

Space permitting, have you considered adding aliens from the Future Player's Companion?

I hadn't, but I could. Looking over it, some of these races do have features I haven't built into the sheet yet, like racial DR or more than one extra racial language, but those shouldn't be hard to make features of the race editor page once I have time to really work on it. The time I have for this stuff needs to go to converting the module Planet of Darkness that I'm currently running a party through.

They were given permission to web publish the out-of-print Star Frontiers books (the game was ditched by Lorraine Williams in favor of the Buck Rogers XXVc game, which of course she had a vested interest in). WotC sent a Cease and Desist letter only to be confronted by a counter letter given to the site webmaster from years before from TSR giving them permission to post the stuff. All the rulebooks and modules are there for download.

It was my first RPG campaign, so I have a lot of nostalgia about it. I like the Vrusk being externals in Star*Drive because the game is too humanocentric and having another race with its own client races (Humma, Ifshnit, Yazirian, Osakar, and Dralasite) and its own spanning mercantile empire would be cool. In the original game you get the idea that humanity is nowhere near the top and that the Vrusk controlled the Frontier's infrastructure.

Space is vast, they could easily come from another direction and have nothing to do with the others.

You could put them in The Far Reach or the Orion Frontier. But it would be interesting to know if they'll take sides when the war with the other Externals comes.

Thaal? Sathar?

Where are these guys from?

Sorry, with my copies of d20 Future and the Star*Drive setting I still feel like a complete newcomer to the seemingly rather rich history of sci fi from TSR/WotC sources ...

Externals are peoples like the Klicks, am I right?
