Reminds me of many of the adventure structure of RPG discussions here at EN World

They really lucked out in getting a couple of child actors who could grow so well with the show. And then they gave them good material to work with.I know sometimes kids grow up on shows both as characters and actors. Though, Jake and Nog have such great arcs and go from background scenery to being characters I look forward to seeing in episodes.
Jake and Nog - especially Nog, especially given where he started out in the first episode - were both excellent characters. Cirroc Lofton was 13 when they started filming, but Aron Eisenberg was 23.They really lucked out in getting a couple of child actors who could grow so well with the show. Had to think about it... Im guessing its cause half the time O'Brien is overly nice and helpful, and the other half the time he is crotchety and abrasive? This is the one show I practically forced my wife to watch with me when we got together. It took us many years
She enjoyed it but extremely disliked O'brien, which I thought was hilarious.
This is probably #1 on my all time favorite show list. Garak is probably the best character ever made for television.
There are lots of good characters, aren’t there? Garak probably takes the gold medal but of course a very strong contender is Dukat, Star Trek’s best villain (and arguably its only true recurring nemesis). This is the one show I practically forced my wife to watch with me when we got together. Maybe she needs a course in Colm Meaney appreciation. I recommend having her watch The Commitments, The Van, and The Snapper. This is the one show I practically forced my wife to watch with me when we got together. It took us many years

Heh, I never realised that about Nog's actor. Makes sense in retrospect - you can hide a lot of age cues under all that makeup, and it'd be tough for a kid to sit through its application.Jake and Nog - especially Nog, especially given where he started out in the first episode - were both excellent characters. When a LGBTQ friend pointed out to me that Garak was 'obviously' attracted to Bashir their interactions hit in a completely different way for me. Even better, from a story perspective, as it gave an explanation to a lot of behaviour. There are lots of good characters, aren’t there? Others include Martok (probably my personal favourite), Nog, Rom, and Weyoun.
